We, the Legislative and Major Investor Committees of SMTAR, are trying to reach our RPAC goals for 2025. We need you to help us do that. If you can donate (contribute) just $15 by September 18th, you will help us get there. What is RPAC and what has it done for me? In short, RPAC money is used to protect YOUR chosen profession and everyone’s right to Private Property Ownership. What RPAC has done: On a Federal level: RPAC helped to successfully protect a Veteran’s ability to pay a real estate professional for assisting them in the purchase of a home. RPAC is continually working to keep the National Flood Insurance Program in place. Currently, the Program is set to expire on September 30, 2025 but, most likely, RPAC dollars will be used to get an extension from Congress. RPAC is working to ensure that rural communities in Tennessee, as well as other parts of the country, have access to high-speed internet. On a State of Tennessee level: For about three years, Tennessee REALTORS® members and lobbyists were able to successfully defeat proposed legislation that would have added Impact Fees to the costs of all new homes. RPAC was successful in supporting a bill in the Tennessee Legislature that would authorize direct payments to be made to a company that is solely owned by a broker, affiliate broker or other person licensed by the Tennessee Real Estate Commission. In 2025, members and lobbyists were able to defeat a proposed State Property Tax. We sincerely appreciate your help.
