The following policy pertains to all gatherings organized by the Southern Middle Tennessee Association of REALTORS® (SMTAR).
The goal of SMTAR is for everyone to have a wonderful time with us in a relaxed and friendly environment. Individual circumstances of our members are always taken into consideration when adhering to the our event policy. Please let us know if you need special assistance.
YOU ARE REQUIRED TO CHECK IN WITH SMTAR STAFF AT THE DOOR OF ALL EVENTS
Attendance at SMTAR events necessitates prior reservations unless explicitly exempted. Access to the event may be denied to those without a confirmed reservation. In the event that a reservation has been made but cannot be honored, please be advised that reservations are non-refundable. However, the option to designate a replacement attendee from your organization is available.
Seating allocation operates on a first-come, first-served basis. SMTAR retains the right to reserve seating for esteemed guests. Please kindly register with SMTAR staff upon your arrival at any event.
Association members are reminded of their membership obligations under the REALTOR® Code of Ethics and governing documents of SMTAR, Tennessee REALTORS® and NAR. Conduct of members, guests and others in attendance at SMTAR events should remain professionally focused in an effort to shine a positive light in the direction of REALTORS® everywhere.
SMTAR events serve as a platform for networking and knowledge exchange among our members. Therefore, in accordance with state and federal regulations, business solicitation is permitted. However, the distribution of promotional materials of any nature requires prior written consent from SMTAR staff. Business cards are permissible for distribution at any time.
SMTAR refrains from endorsing any product, service, or vendor unless an official affiliate agreement is established and disclosed to our members. Any views, opinions, or services offered by speakers, presenters, or vendors exclusively represent the perspectives of those entities and individuals and do not reflect the official stance of SMTAR.
SMTAR may engage in video, audio, or still photography during its events. Your participation in our events signifies your consent to being photographed or recorded. SMTAR may employ third-party vendors to provide video, audio, and photography services, and you release any usage rights to the third-party vendor identified in our promotional material. These files or images may be utilized in future event advertisements.
SMTAR retains the authority to regulate audio and video recording, as well as photography. Attendees at SMTAR events are expected to adhere to any stipulated restrictions. Failure to comply may result in expulsion from the event without the possibility of readmission or a refund.
The rights to all materials presented and published during the event remain vested in their original creators unless a formal transfer statement has been issued. Attendees are kindly requested not to duplicate or disseminate materials acquired at SMTAR events.
Certain topics are not proper subjects for discussion at any SMTAR function. In many cases, our members are competitors and any action or agreement that may eliminate, restrict or govern competition among members, or their colleagues could be a violation of state or federal antitrust laws.
Attendees are hereby reminded that various state and federal laws prohibit the exchange of information among competitors regarding matters pertaining to price, refusals to deal, market division, tying relationships and other topics which might infringe upon antitrust regulations, and that no such exchange or discussion will be tolerated during this meeting. These guidelines apply not only to the formal meeting sessions, but to informal discussions during breaks, meals or social gatherings. Thank you for your cooperation.
